Supporting CBC
We believe that God is a generous and providing God, and so his church should be a generous and caring people, giving as they have received. We also believe that the primary work of God's church is gospel ministry, and so the primary responsibility for partnering in this work lies with God's own people, with whatever resources, abilities and finances we are able to give.
There are a number of different ways that you can give financially to the life of CBC, whether you are a member or not.
How do you prefer to give?
Do you pay tax? If so, please read this...
If you pay tax through your personal earnings, like a salary or pension then, as a charity, we can reclaim 25% of your donation from the government. However to do this, we do need your permission by signing a short Gift Aid Declaration. This means that a £100 donation is topped by the Government so your donation becomes £125.
You are able to Gift Aid regardless of whether you give by paying into the bank or by using envelopes on a Sunday - we just need to have the signed form from you.
If you currently give to CBC and pay tax, please complete the following form and return it either by email to
finance@calderwoodbaptist.co.uk or simply hand it in to the church office.
CBC Gift Aid Form
Regular giving through your bank account
Set up a Standing Order with your bank using the bank details below:
Bank: Clydesdale Bank
Account Name: Calderwood Baptist Church
Sort Code: 82-62-24
Account Number: 10230694
You are in full control of this. You decide how much you wish to give and how much you wish to donate and you can stop the standing order at any point.
If you are a UK tax payer, please remember to complete a Gift Aid form.
Giving in the basket on a Sunday
During our church services, there is an opportunity to be able to give to CBC.
We have Weekly Offering Envelopes, which you can use to give by cash or cheque (made payable to Calderwood Baptist Church). Many of our members like these as it allows them to plan their giving. These envelopes are available from Thomas McNeil.
Remember, you can still Gift Aid your donation even if you use the envelopes.
Making a one-off donation
You can make a one-off donation to CBC using any of the following methods. If you wish your donation to be used for a specific purpose, please indicate this on the payment reference or the envelope.
1. BACS - you can make a payment through your bank using the details above.
2. Cheque - should be made payable to Calderwood Baptist Church.
3. Cash - placed in a donation envelope and given to any member of the Finance Team or placed in the offering basket. (Donation envelopes are available if you ask).
