Gather & Grow
Sundays are unique
On Sunday mornings the whole church gathers. All kinds of people from all kinds of places with all kinds of backgrounds. Cross-generational, cross-cultural, the whole range of people come together as one local family of faith, all to serve one another, to encourage one another, to love one another, and give glory to our God and Saviour Jesus Christ together through serving, singing, preaching and praying. It was on Sundays the church began to meet because it was on Sunday that Jesus rose from the dead. Though we meet on different days in different ways, Sunday is when we gather together, reflecting that we are already gathered together in Christ... And all are welcome to join us.
What Should I Expect?
On Sundays, you will be welcomed at the front door and shown where the service takes place. The service will usually begin with a welcome and some music - you may see people stand and sing along. Afterwards there will be a children's address or something for the family. Then after some music and prayer, a message will be given from a text in the Bible. At the end there will be plenty of time to interact with others, meet new people, ask any questions or ask for prayer, or simply enjoy some refreshments with others before folks leave.
Is there a Dress Code?
We have no formal dress code, so please dress as you normally would as though for a regular family gathering. Some people like to dress more formally on days like Remembrance, or more festive at Christmas, but most weeks the dress code just reflects the town on a regular day.
Will I have to Join In?
Not necessarily. You are welcome to participate or simply observe as you please. At the moment, we ask that any who attend comply with nationwide measure, and more than this, as a family of believers who love one another, we want to respect one another's choices and let our own choices be ones that reflect love and grace and patience with one another. So, if you are just visiting, there is no expectation for you to be doing anything in particular and we hope that you feel welcomed by our family here in Calderwood.
