Update for Sunday Services - March 2020
Current measures to protect against the spread of Coronavirus COVID-19
In line with nationwide measures and in taking due diligence to protect those at risk and prevent the spread of disease, the following changes have been made to our usual church operations: From Sunday 16th August 2020 we will re-open to gather in person with no more than 50 people in the building at once, and seating according to national social distancing guidance. Attendees of services will be prearranged and in a rota system, and we will also continue online via Live Stream Services. The services, both in-person and online, will begin on Sundays at 10:30am. We never want to share viruses and put lives at risk, but we have always been about sharing the good news of life in Jesus.
Sundays are unique...
On Sundays the whole church gathers. All kinds of people from all kinds of places with all kinds of backgrounds. Cross-generational, cross-cultural, the whole range of people come together as one local family of faith, all to serve one another, to encourage one another, to love one another, and give glory to God together through serving, singing, preaching and praying. It was on Sundays the church began to meet because it was on Sunday that Jesus rose from the dead. Though we meet on different days in different ways, Sunday is when we gather together, reflecting that we are already gathered together in Christ... And all are welcome to join us.
It helps to get there 15 minutes early to get a parking spot and seat in time for the service to start. We meet in the Church Building Main Hall for both services.
The address is:
Calderwood Baptist Church
There is some parking available at the rear of the Church Building and in Hunter House Car Park adjacent to the Church.
You can expect to be welcomed on arrival, hear songs of praise, a time of prayer, and a preaching programme that follows books of the Bible.
We have a fantastic programme for the kids for ages 0–12. Children stay with their grown-up at the start of the morning as we sing together for the first part of the service along with a short interactive children's talk. The speaker will make it clear when and where children need to go for their programmes. The kids will have great fun playing games and learning about God in a way tailored to their age group.
After the Church service there is a time of fellowship with refreshments being served at the rear of the hall for adults and our children enjoy their own refreshments at the front of the hall.
Come and join us; we look forward to welcoming you!
We have a monthly Evening Service called 'Last Sunday at 7' where we join together with Churches throughout East Kilbride and we worship together either at Calderwood Baptist Church or Claremont Parish Church. This is a fantastic opportunity to unite with our brothers and sisters in Christ as we look at the Gospel and enjoy fellowship together.
